For anyone (everyone) who’s ever wanted a more in-depth look at Ash and Pikachu’s backstory, the English-language trailer for Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! has finally hit U.S. shores.

The movie looks to be a fun, nostalgia-filled romp through the earliest days of Ash’s journey with the beloved, and now ubiquitous, Pikachu. Plenty of trials and tribulations, and plenty of Pikachu’s infamous sass as the two forge the close bond we come to know and love in later episodes, await in the film.

Watch the trailer below:

Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! will play in (only a limited number of) domestic theaters on November 5th and 6th. In Minnesota, AMC Rosedale 14 is the only theater with a showing (get presale tix here).

Until then, you’ll have to content yourself re-watching the original show and movies, and, of course, playing Pokémon Go (<–that’s a link to the Minnesota Pokémon Go Facebook group, btw).

And, speaking of, if you’re behind in your mission to catch them all, here’s a cheat sheet for the best places to find rare Pokémon in Minnesota, from the Minneapolis Institute of Art to Grand Marais, courtesy of Explore Minnesota: POKEMON GO: WHERE TO CATCH THEM ALL IN MINNESOTA.
