Jamf is the only MN tech company on Deloitte’s 2017 Technology Fast 500

The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 had just one, lonely Minnesota company make the list in 2017. But it’s a good one.

The list of technology companies is described on the Deloitte Fast 500 website as:
“The Technology Fast 500 is the leading technology awards program. Combining technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and rapid growth, Fast 500 companies—large, small, public, and private—hail from cities far and wide across North America and are disrupting the technology industry. If you are looking for fast-growing technology companies releasing new, emerging technologies, you have come to the right place! Representing industries from software to biotech, Fast 500 companies play in the SaaS, cloud computing, data analytics, and mobile sectors.”

The Minnesota company that made the list was Jamf, ranked #496 on the list of 500. Jamf, based in Minneapolis, is a leader in Mac OS X and iOS management. They create software that allows users to manage Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV devices in small business, school, and growing enterprise environments.

This isn’t the first time Jamf has received recognition from Deloitte: Jamf has made the list multiple times in the past, hitting #190 in 2014, #296 in 2015, and last year they were #396. The growth of the company has begun to slow over the past 4 years, based on the information that Deloitte has for revenue growth the preceding three years, which explains their drop in ranking.

But there’s no need to get worried about the lack of Minnesota companies on the list: Participation is completely voluntary, as the company has to opt in. Jamf is our Minnesota representation now for the fourth year in a row.

Texas-based Vista Equity Partners bought a controlling stake in Jamf about month ago, on 10/11/17. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
