If you find yourself in North Loop looking for a bite to eat, you’re in trouble. Not because you don’t have any options, in fact it’s quite the opposite.

Having this many options poses a problem, a delicious one, but still a problem.

You could spend hours trying to narrow it down, so we are going to make it a little easier on you. These five all have a unique style, so there should be something here to satisfy every foodie’s hankering. Here is a quick list of five great restaurants in the North Loop area, in no particular order.

Spoon and Stable

Arguably the most decorated restaurant in the Twins Cities, you will never find yourself dissatisfied as you devour any of the dishes from their standout menu. Minnesota native, executive chef, and owner Gavin Kaysen brings an unparalleled spin on locally inspired cuisine that has drawn a crowd for years. Kaysen’s eatery has attracted lots of media and attention, but none more noteworthy than when he was asked to prepare some items from the menu as part of a private meal for the Dalai Lama, who was in town for speaking events.

Dalton & Wade

A newer spot in this area, Dalton & Wade has a voluminous whiskey selection and some of the best eats around. You can expect great bar food, BBQ meats, and delicious sweets. Accidental rhyming is fun, isn’t it? After being open for two months, it has become a local favorite and will undoubtedly be a staple for years to come. You can make a reservation for dinner or come by for a drink and appetizers, either way you’ll feel right at home with the friendly staff and heavenly grub.

Bar La Grassa

With an extensive, yet easy to navigate, menu full of delectable dishes, this establishment is prominent in the local scene. One of the most highly regarded Italian restaurants in the Twin Cities, Bar La Grassa is most famously known for their dry and fresh pasta, being served in mouth-watering combinations. This standing-room only spot is a must for anyone looking for fine dining in the North Loop.

This is the ideal for your happy hour and food. Renowned burgers and sandwiches makes them one of the most popular spots in the Twin Cities. They specialize in putting a deluxe spin on time-honored dishes like cheese curds and poutine. In the heart of the North Loop area, Red Cow has developed a loyal fan base that continues to grow, and for good reason. You’ll never leave disappointed with these bar food classics and glorious burgers.

Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza

Of course we are going to include a pizza place on this list, because who doesn’t appreciate good pizza? Notorious for using a coal-fired oven to make their pies, Black Sheep was featured as one of the best pizzas in America by the Food Network.  High praise like this has made Black Sheep a go-to stop in the North Loop area, and with two other locations in the Twin Cities, you’re never too far from a savory pie.
