Here it is, the third edition for cocktails you can make at home. Summer is here, It’s hot outside, and the sun is shining! Let’s keep it cool with these fun cocktails you can make on your own.

Washington Apple

The Washington Apple is a sweet and somewhat tart beverage. There are several ways to make this cocktail but we will keep it simple with what you have laying around in your liquor cabinet or refrigerator. For this beverage we will use a flavored whiskey. The one pictured above is made with Gala apples, but any apple you have will do just for garnish.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ice
  • Shaker
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Apple flavored whiskey
  • Cranberry juice
  • Apples sliced for garnish (optional)

How to make:

  1. Fill shaker with 5 oz. of cranberry juice
  2. Add 1 oz. apple whiskey to shaker
  3. Shake well
  4. Strain into ice filled low-ball glass
  5. Garnish with apple slice (optional)

There is an alternative solution if you don’t want it on the rocks. Simply mix ingredients with ice in a shaker then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an apple slice

Pomegranate Cherry Limeade

Do we have any soda sippers in the house? This pomegranate cherry limeade will bring out the sweetness in you!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ice
  • shaker
  • Jigger/shot glass
  • Lemonade
  • Lemon Lime Soda
  • Grenadine
  • Pomegranate vodka

How to make:

  1. Fill glass with ice, set aside
  2. Add 1.5 oz. Pomegranate Vodka to shaker
  3. Add 1 oz. Lemonade to shaker
  4. Add 2 oz. Lemon Lime Soda to shaker
  5. Add splash of grenadine to shaker (to taste)
  6. Shake and strain into glass with ice
  7. Garnish with cherries (optional)

There is also an alternative solution if you don’t want this on the rocks. Simply mix ingredients with ice in a shaker then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with cherries.
*Note: I you do not have pomegranate vodka simple substitute with regular vodka and pomegranate juice

Red snapper

The red snapper is a drink with several different twists and variants. For this edition we will keep it simple with ingredients you have in your liquor cabinet as well as your spice rack. It is essentially a Bloody Mary with gin instead of vodka.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ice
  • Gin
  • Tomato Juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Hot sauce
  • Celery salt
  • Lemon or lime juice
  • Shaker
  • Jigger
  • Lemon wheel and celery stalk (optional garnish)

How to make:

  1. Rim glass with lemon juice and celery salt
  2. Fill glass with ice set aside
  3. Add 2 oz Gin to shaker
  4. Add 4 oz Tomato Juice to shaker
  5. Add .75 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice to shaker
  6. Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
  7. Add a dash of hot sauce to shaker (to taste)
  8. Shake well
  9. Pour contents into ice and rimmed glass
  10. Garnish with Lemon wheel & celery stalk (optional)
