Grab your paints, your pals, and your favorite Pinot. Painting and drinking has taken on a whole new meaning with studios located all over the metro. And while the concept has exploded with popularity over the last several years, not all paint studios are created equal. The following include not only wonderful instruction, a variety of choices for what to paint, and all the supplies you’ll ever need for painting, but most of them possess liquor licenses so alcoholic beverages are available for purchase on-site. Bonus: There is no previous experience required. Anyone of any skill level is encouraged to paint and have fun. Some of these companies will even travel to you so you can enjoy a glass of wine or toss back a pint of beer while painting the night away with your friends and family in the comfort of your own home.

Bottle & Bottega

Bottega, by definition, is known as the studio of a master artist, in which lesser artists, apprentices, or students learn by participating in the work. Bottle & Bottega prides itself on not having pretensions, just fun.

 

Pinot’s Palette

Located in St. Louis Park, just outside of Minneapolis, Pinot’s Palette offers weekly events for various paintings, but they also offer private events for any occasion.

 

Joyful H’arts Studio

Joyful H’arts is a private studio owned by Gail Kiltie. This awesome studio specializes in mobile painting parties that come to you location and provide all necessary supplies for painting as well as fun and helpful instruction.

 

Art and Elixir

Art & Elixir, in St. Paul, offers public, private, and corporate events; perfect for any size and function. Check their calendar (through the website link above) for a listing of public event locations.

 

Corks & Canvas

Corks & Canvas specializes in private events. They offer painting events at local restaurants, wineries, and golfcourses. They are also more than happy to come to your location or partner with any suitable venue.

 

Wine & Canvas

With over 50 locations across the country, Wine & Canvas was one of the very first in the industry, pioneering the way for wine and paint enthusiasts everywhere. There are two locations in Minnesota (Rochester and St. Anthony).

The Paint Pub

The Paint Pub in Maple Grove hosts great painting events for everyone. Well, everyone with an appetite that is: Along with beer and wine available for purchase, the Paint Pub also offers home made paninis for those who get a little hungry while making art.
