Here is the second edition for the cocktails you can make at home. The weather is heating up, the days are getting longer and we are cooling down even more with these fun cocktails you can make on your own.

Appletini

The Appletini is a sweet yet tart classic. There is an abundance of variations for this cocktail so we will keep it simple with what you have around the kitchen and liquor cabinet.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Shaker
  • Ice
  • Jigger/shot glass
  • Vodka (apple flavor)
  • Apple Schnapps (any brand)
  • Apples sliced for garnish (optional)
  • Sour mix (any brand)

How to make:

  1. Fill shaker with ice
  2. Add 1.5 oz. of apple vodka
  3. Add 1 oz. of apple schnapps
  4. Add 1 oz. sour mix
  5. Shake well
  6. Strain into martini glass
  7. Garnish with apple slice

The Skaalvenn Daiquiri

Skaalvenn! That’s Norwegian for cheers, friends. This summer cocktail recipe is brought to us from Skaalvenn Distillery. They are located on the edge of the twin cities in Brooklyn Park. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ice
  • Jigger/shotglass
  • Fresh squeezed lime juice (concentrate will work also)
  • Simple syrup
  • Skaalvenn rum

How to make:

  1. Fill glass with ice
  2. Add 2 oz. lime juice
  3. Add 2 oz. simple syrup
  4. Add 2 oz. Skaalven Rum
  5. Stir and serve

The Classic Margarita

Since we have a few limes left over along with our sweet and sour mix let’s use these to make a margarita! There are limitless options and recipes for just about any fruity flavor you can think of. Here’s a classic that can be blended or served over ice that not only tastes better than a premixed margarita, but is also more fun to make.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ice
  • Blender (optional)
  • Fresh squeezed lime juice (concentrate will work also)
  • Tequila (Silver/blanco)
  • Triple Sec
  • Sour mix
  • Salt

How to make:

  1. In a large blender add:
  • 2 cups Ice cubes
  • 1 oz. Lime juice
  • 2 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. triple sec/orange liqueur
  • 2 cups sweet & sour mix

* For non-blended Margarita combine ingredients in small pitcher and pour over ice

2) Blend until smooth/desired texture
3) Run lime wedges around the outer rim of glasses then dip in coarse salt
4) Garnish glasses with lime wheel, pour, and enjoy
