There are a lot of races out there that you can attend to test your fitness. You can hit a 5k, 10k, half marathon, or even a full marathon if you’re up for it. But I won’t be discussing these “normal” runs, however: This article is all about runs that will have you blasted with colored powder, glowing at night, and running through bubbles.

Runs that are designed for adults, obviously.

5K ColorBlast

Feel free to run, walk, or even dance your way through cannons that shoot colors at you. Your t-shirt might start out white, but by the end you’ll be as colorful as your personality (hopefully). This run takes place May 27th in St. Paul at Como Regional Park, and individuals can register for $70, or as a team for $65/person.

Brewery Running Series: Urban Growler Brewing Company

You wanna run or walk a 5k and drink a beer as well? Well, there’s the Brewery Running Series that’s tailor-made for you: On May 27th you’ll start your run at Urban Growler Brewing Company in St. Paul. From the brewery you’ll weave your way through the surrounding streets and end up back at Brewery where there will be merchandise to purchase, food trucks for some eats, and plenty of great beer for you to enjoy. You earned it. Registration starts at just $30, and for $10 more you get a T-shirt. A portion of the proceeds go towards MN non-profits.

The Bubble Run

Were you the kid that always had “too many bubbles” in your bath according to your parents? Here’s the run for you: On June 11th in Blaine at the National Sports Center is The Bubble Run. You will be running a 5k course that includes bubble bogs. Yes, bubble bogs that are anywhere from four feet to seven feet deep. Your inner child is sure to pleased. If the bubbles weren’t enough, you can strap on a tutu and wear sunglasses as well. Why not? And did I mention the bubbles are colored? Registration is a cool $50 to have a bubbly blast.

SuperHero 5K

On June 16th there will be a gathering of superheroes in Maple Grove at the Elm Creek Park Reserve. This is the Super Hero 5K where runners and walkers are encouraged to dress as superheroes as they attempt to raise money for The Stories Foundation. There will also be food, games, and music. Anyone that enters the race will receive race entry, SuperHero t-shirt, Freedom Truck SuperHero meal, and entrance into all games, music and vendors available at the sight. Sign up before June 1st for $30 and after that for $40. Anyone under the age of twelve can enter for $15.  If running isn’t your thing, then just purchase a Freedom Truck Party pass and eat, play games, and meet all the vendors without breaking a sweat.

Twin Cities Color Run

Do you like foam? And do you want a unicorn medal? If you answered yes to both those questions then on July 9th you’ll want to head over to the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. With giant inflatable unicorns, an all new purple color zone, and a unicorn medal free for finishing the race, there is all sorts of fun times to be had.

The Glo Run Twin Cities

On August 26th, blacklights will light the way for you as you travel through five different zones of glowing fabulous around MT Normandale lake. You get a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and other swag that will light you up like a neon sign. As you go through each zone there will be a different DJ to keep your heart and the beats pumping. It’s a party, that’s a run, that’s a party, that’s a run…
