Twin Cities Date Ideas, vol. 2

134

It’s official. Summer is over and fall has officially kicked off. It’s a bittersweet feeling as the warm weather fades, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. This is the most interesting time of the year to be outside and taking on the scenery of nature, and even better when it’s hand-in-hand with a special someone.

Without further ado, here is the second edition of the best Twin Cities Date Ideas.

Twin Cities Maze

Minnesota has miles upon miles of cornfields, which makes for wonderful maze opportunities. Now, to some, this may seem bit child-oriented but there is an awesome corn maze located just outside the Twin Cities in Brooklyn Park. Every year the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze puts on an enjoyable and fun experience for first dates or 101st dates, but be sure you trust your partner: You have to find your way out, after all.

Drive in Movies at Vali-Hi Drive-In

Although drive-in movies are not as popular as they were in the 50’s and 60’s there are still several locations throughout the state of Minnesota that host drive-in movies. Vali-Hi Drive-In Theater, located in Lake Elmo, shows three movies each night every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Movie-goers are able to tune their radios into each movie shown while having access to a full concession stand with bathrooms located on site. Visit their website to see which movies are playing which night.

Wine tasting at a local winery

Minnesota is home to over 25 wineries and vineyards scattered across the state. Fall is certainly the best time to go to a vineyard, even if you do have to drive a few hours outside of the metro area to find one. The scenery is breathtaking and it’s peak season for grape harvesting. Click the link above for a full list of Minnesota wineries and vineyards.

Haunted Houses

It just wouldn’t be fall without the undisputed anticipation on Halloween. For those looking to get their spook on with their significant other Minnesota is home to plenty of haunted houses located all over the metro. Plus, it’s a great reason to stand just a little bit closer, holding hands and arms, hiding your face in coats and shoulders, with the one you love.

Victoria Valley Orchard

For those who aren’t into the spook of fall, or if you’re simply not a drinker, there are plenty of apple orchards located around Minnesota for some more innocent fun. Victoria Valley Orchard is located closest to the Twin Cities and is one of our favorites: Great opportunities for long, leisurely strolls through tree-lined fields, and plenty of crisp, juicy apple varieties to choose from to take home.

When Cody isn’t designing you can find him climbing other creative mountains along the lines of music production, illustration, and piano playing. At times when creative juices are depleted, he’s most likely on the pitch playing soccer, shredding the local skatepark, or in the gym moving heavy things trying to be like Arnold.
