Take a trip back in time with Folkways of the Holidays

32

Each weekend in December before the Christmas Holiday a transformation takes place at The Landing – Minnesota River Heritage Park in Shakopee. The area is taken back in time to life in the 19th Century around Christmas, and the cultural traditions of the Minnesota River Valley are brought to life through costumed interpreters and tours of homes with distant decorations that explore this culture.

Attractions like horse drawn trolleys, crafts, and folk art performances will also help to recreate the era throughout the Landing – something like a small-scale Christmas-themed Renaissance festival.
